texture
I think I want to take some of my focus off of exploring perspective and composition and start thinking more about the texture and feel of my photographs. I recently discovered the work of Vincent Laforet from the Apple Aperture website and I was amazed at the way he would alter an image (by either using advanced in-camera or post-production techniques) to achieve a certain mood. I’m don’t want to learn to do the same thing he’s doing, but I want to ‘invent’ a new ‘look’… a sort of filter that I could apply to a number of different images that, in the end, would make them recognizable as an image that I made. I want to understand light and how it effects an image. I want to learn about what I can do to make a photograph that looks different from its reality.
